Abstract

Sexual assault of a child; mandatory minimum sentence; penalty. Increases the penalty for the sexual assault of a child younger than 18 years of age to a mandatory minimum sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole.

A BILL to amend and reenact ยงยง 16.1-69.55, 18.2-61, 18.2-67.1, 18.2-67.2, 18.2-67.3, 18.2-67.4:2, 19.2-8, and 19.2-310.2 of the Code of Virginia, relating to sexual assault of a child; mandatory minimum sentence; penalty.
