Abstract

Certificate of public need; exception; critical access hospitals; swing beds. Allows critical access hospitals to utilize any number of swing beds without obtaining a certificate of public need, subject to the limitations of federal law. Under current law, critical access hospitals may only use up to 10 percent of beds as swing beds.

A BILL to amend and reenact §§ 32.1-102.1:3, 32.1-122.07, and 32.1-132 of the Code of Virginia, relating to certificate of public need; exception; critical access hospitals; swing beds.
