Concealed handgun; carrying onto the premises of any restaurant, penalty.

Abstract

Carrying a concealed handgun onto the premisesof any restaurant; penalty. Makes it a Class 2 misdemeanor forany person, except for active and qualified retired law-enforcementofficers, to carry a concealed handgun onto the premises of any restaurantor club for which a license to sell and serve alcoholic beveragesfor on-premises consumption has been granted by the Virginia AlcoholicBeverage Control Authority. Under current law, a concealed handgunpermit holder may carry a concealed handgun onto the premises ofany restaurant or club that sells alcoholic beverages, but he isguilty of a Class 2 misdemeanor if he consumes an alcoholic beveragewhile on the premises.
