Higher educational institutions, public; grants for tuition and fees.

Abstract

Public institutions of higher education; grantsfor tuition and fees. Requires any associate-degree-grantingpublic institution of higher education other than a comprehensivecommunity college and baccalaureate public institution of highereducation to provide a grant for the payment of tuition and feesto certain students. Under current law, only comprehensive communitycolleges are required to provide such grants to such students andother associate-degree-granting public institutions of higher educationor baccalaureate public institutions of higher education may providesuch grants. The bill also specifies that the fees eligible for paymentby such grants shall include the cost of books and the cost of housingand meal plans year-round.
