Child protective services data; DSS to identify & report certain data to Gov. & General Assembly.

Abstract

Department of Social Services; child protectiveservices data; report. Directs the Department of Social Servicesto identify and report the following data to the Governor and GeneralAssembly by October 1, 2022: (i) the number of reports of child abuseor neglect submitted in the Commonwealth; (ii) the number of reportsof child abuse or neglect to which a local department of social services(local department) responded by conducting an investigation or afamily assessment; (iii) in cases in which an investigation or afamily assessment was conducted, the average number of days thatpassed between the initiation of such investigation or family assessment and the receipt of the initial report of child abuse or neglect;(iv) the average number of investigations or family assessments towhich a single local department employee is assigned; and (v) incases in which a child was removed from his home and committed tothe custody of a local board of social services or licensed child-placingagency, the average length of time the child remained in foster careand the number of such children who ultimately returned home.
