Adoption; death of joint petitioner prior to entry of final order.

Abstract

Death of joint petitioner prior to entry offinal order of adoption. Provides that in cases in which marriedpersons, or persons who were previously married and who are permittedto adopt a child, have jointly petitioned to adopt a child and oneof the petitioners dies before entry of a final order of adoption,the adoption may proceed in the name of both petitioners upon requestof the surviving petitioner. The bill further provides that, uponentry of a final order, the child shall be, for all intents and purposes,the child of both petitioners.
