Abstract

Outdoor shooting ranges; prohibited adjacentto residential areas; exceptions; civil penalty. Prohibits theoperation of an outdoor shooting range, defined in the bill, within500 yards of any property zoned for residential use unless the RangeDesign Criteria developed by the U.S. Department of Energy, Officeof Health, Safety and Security have been met. The bill provides thatany person who violates the provisions of this section is subjectto a civil penalty of not less than $1,000 nor more than $100,000for the initial violation and $5,000 per day for each day of violationthereafter.
