Abstract

School resource officers; custodial interrogation;parental consent. Prohibits each school resource officer fromconducting a custodial interrogation, which the bill defines as anyinterview of a public elementary or secondary school student conductedby a school resource officer in such circumstances that would leada reasonable person to consider himself to be in custody associatedwith arrest and during which the school resource officer takes actionsor asks questions that are reasonably likely to elicit responsesfrom the student that could incriminate him, without the writtenconsent of the student's parent.
