Corrections, Board of; minimum standards for health care services in local correctional facilities.

Abstract

Authorizes the Board of Corrections (Board) to establish, with the advice of and guidance from the Commissioner of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and the State Health Commissioner, minimum standards for health care services in local, regional, and community correctional facilities. The bill provides that such standards shall include (i) requirements for medical, dental, and pharmaceutical services, (ii) requirements for behavioral health care services, (iii) a requirement that each facility submit a standardized quarterly continuous quality improvement report, and (iv) provisions for the enforcement of such standards.
