High school STEM internship; tax credit, report.

Abstract

Creates a pilot grant program a business that hosts a junior or senior in a Richmond City Schools high school as an intern in a STEM or high-demand field for a semester during the 2019-2020 or 2020-2021 academic year. The business would receive a $2,500 grant per student per semester. Participation in the program is limited to 25 students. The bill requires the Superintendent of Richmond Public Schools to submit an annual report regarding various metrics of the program. The provisions of the bill are contingent on funding in a general appropriation act.
