Education, Dept. of - As introduced, requires the department and the comptroller of the treasury to conduct a study of the total amount of funds spent to build, equip, and maintain elementary and secondary schools; requires a comparison between the average instructional salary of teachers in this state and the average salary of teachers across the southeastern United States; requires a study of the amount of sales tax collections appropriated to K-12 education. - Amends TCA Title 49 and Title 67, Chapter 6.
