Remedies and Special Proceedings - As introduced, prohibits a circuit, probate, or county court or court clerk from approving a petition for a name change or correcting an error on a birth certificate until the petitioner provides proof of a criminal history record check through the TBI. - Amends TCA Title 8, Chapter 21, Part 4; Title 16, Chapter 16; Title 16, Chapter 10 and Title 29, Chapter 8.
