Abstract

A BILL TO AMEND THE SOUTH CAROLINA CODE OF LAWS BY ADDING SECTION 2-1-60 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT NO PERSON IS ELIGIBLE FOR ELECTION TO THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES IF THAT PERSON HAS SERVED SIX TERMS IN THE SAME BODY, THAT NO PERSON IS ELIGIBLE FOR ELECTION TO THE SENATE IF THAT PERSON HAS SERVED THREE TERMS IN THE SAME BODY, AND TO PROVIDE THAT ANY TERM SERVED, FOR WHICH THE ELECTION WAS HELD PRIOR TO JANUARY 1, 2024, MUST NOT BE COUNTED AS A TERM SERVED.
