Child support obligations

Abstract

A BILL TO AMEND SECTION 63-5-20, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO CHILD SUPPORT OBLIGATIONS, SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT AN OFFENDER SENTENCED TO NINETY OR FEWER DAYS IMPRISONMENT WHO IS EMPLOYED AT THE TIME OF SENTENCING AND IS ABLE TO MAINTAIN EMPLOYMENT MAY SERVE HIS SENTENCE AT A TIME WHEN HE IS NOT WORKING AND THE SENTENCE DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH HIS EMPLOYMENT, AND TO PROVIDE FOR WAGE GARNISHMENT TO SATISFY CHILD SUPPORT PAYMENTS.
