Abstract

A BILL TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 22-3-350 SO AS TO PROVIDE AN ASSESSMENT ON ALL CIVIL FILINGS IN MAGISTRATES COURT AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE COLLECTION AND ALLOCATION OF THE ASSESSMENT; AND TO AMEND SECTION 22-8-40, RELATING TO THE SALARIES OF FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME MAGISTRATES, SO AS TO PROVIDE SPECIFIC SALARIES FOR MAGISTRATES IN COUNTIES WITH CERTAIN POPULATIONS, TO PROVIDE FOR SUPPLEMENTS FOR FULL-TIME ASSOCIATE CHIEF MAGISTRATES, AND TO PROVIDE THAT IN CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES MAGISTRATES ARE TO BE CONSIDERED STATE EMPLOYEES.
