Abstract

A BILL TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 38-5-300 SO AS TO REQUIRE INSURERS TO DISCLOSE ITS USE OF ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL, AND GOVERNANCE SCORES OR CONSIDERATION OF DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION PRACTICES IN ESTABLISHING RATES; AND BY ADDING SECTIONS 34-3-120, 34-21-80, AND 34-26-895 ALL SO AS TO REQUIRE EVERY BANKING CORPORATION, TRUST INSTITUTION, AND CREDIT UNION TO DISCLOSE IF IT USES ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL, AND GOVERNANCE SCORES OR CONSIDERATION OF DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION POLICIES IN ESTABLISHING RATES, PROVIDING SERVICES, AND MAKING LENDING DETERMINATIONS.
