Abstract

A BILL TO AMEND ARTICLE 7, CHAPTER 3, TITLE 57 OF THE 1976 CODE, RELATING TO THE POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, TO PROVIDE THAT A ROAD, BRIDGE, OR OTHER HIGHWAY FACILITY SHALL NOT BE DEDICATED AND NAMED IN HONOR OF A LIVING PERSON, AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE NAMES OF CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS FROM A ROAD, BRIDGE, OR OTHER HIGHWAY FACILITY; AND TO AMEND CHAPTER 1, TITLE 10 OF THE 1976 CODE, RELATING TO PUBLIC BUILDINGS AND PROPERTY, TO PROVIDE THAT A PUBLIC BUILDING SHALL NOT BE DEDICATED AND NAMED IN HONOR OF A LIVING PERSON, AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE NAMES OF CERTAIN INDIVIDUALS FROM A PUBLIC BUILDING.
