State jobs funded by Appropriations Act

Abstract

A BILL TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 2-1-105 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT AFTER JULY 1, 2019, A MEMBER OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, OR AN IMMEDIATE FAMILY MEMBER OF A MEMBER OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, MAY NOT APPLY FOR OR BE AWARDED A JOB WITH THE STATE IF THE JOB IS FUNDED IN WHOLE OR IN PART BY A STATE APPROPRIATION AND IS SUBJECT TO APPROVAL UPON THE ADVICE AND CONSENT OF THE SENATE, AND THAT THIS PROHIBITION APPLIES UNTIL A MEMBER OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY CEASES TO BE A MEMBER OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR A PERIOD OF AT LEAST ONE YEAR.
