A BILL TO AMEND SECTION 16-23-500 OF THE 1976 CODE, RELATING TO THE UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A FIREARM BY A PERSON CONVICTED OF A VIOLENT OFFENSE, TO EXPAND THE PARAMETERS OF THE OFFENSE TO INCLUDE PERSONS CONVICTED OF A CRIME PUNISHABLE BY A TERM OF IMPRISONMENT OF ONE YEAR OR MORE AND TO PROVIDE INCREASED, GRADUATED PENALTIES FOR A VIOLATION.
