Interstate Compacts - As introduced, prohibits this state from paying an annual assessment to the interstate commission on educational opportunity for military children that exceeds $1.15 per active duty military child whose legal residence is located within the geographic boundaries of this state, unless the proposed increase to the established assessment cap is submitted to the governor and approved by joint resolution of the senate and house of representatives in the next regular session of the general assembly. - Amends TCA Title 49.
Fire Prevention and Investigation - As enacted, authorizes a county that has entered into a written mutual aid agreement with each municipality within the county relating to the provisions of fire services in the context of state military affairs, emergencies, and civil defense law, to fund up to 50 percent of the cost to provide fire services to unincorporated portions of the county using county general funds. - Amends TCA Title 5; Title 6; Title 12; Title 58 and Title 68.
Codes - As introduced, prohibits a local government from limiting or prohibiting the use or installation of products that meet the national codes and standards or materials that meet the national codes and standards for single-family or multi-family housing or commercial construction under four stories; deletes provision declaring that a denial of a waiver by a local governmental entity pertaining to construction materials does not constitute a prohibition of those construction materials. - Amends TCA Section 68-120-101.
