TEACHERS/SALARY: Requires school systems to provide a salary increase for teachers and other school employees using savings attributable to the state's payment of certain unfunded accrued liability of the Teachers' Retirement System of Louisiana (Item #2) (REF GF EX See Note)
SPECIAL DISTRICTS: Requests communications districts throughout the state to implement necessary technology to receive text messages for 911 emergency services.
COMMENDATIONS: Commends and congratulates John Keller upon the occasion of his retirement and recognizes and honors his life, service, contributions and the sacrifices he made for his community and country.
BESE: Requests the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education to encourage and assist local school districts to enter into cooperative endeavor agreements to bulk purchase products and services in order to save valuable education dollars.
