Relating to the Department of Justice.

Abstract

Prohibits the Department of Justice from charging officers and agencies of state government for assistance rendered. Directs the department to pay for the costs of assistance rendered to officers and agencies of state government out of funds appropriated to the department for that purpose. Becomes operative on July 1, 2027. Provides that the department may not enter into or renew a collective bargaining agreement that permits job classification or evaluation on the basis of hours billed by an attorney. Allows the department to track billable hours only for the purposes of reimbursement.
