Relating to a counseling licensure compact; prescribing an effective date.

Abstract

Enacts the interstate Counseling Compact. Allows the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists to disclose specified information to the Counseling Compact Commission. Exempts individuals authorized to work as professional counselors under the Compact privilege to practice from the requirement to obtain a license from the board. Allows the board to use moneys to meet financial obligations imposed on the State of Oregon as a result of participation in the Compact. Becomes operative on January 1, 2028. Takes effect on the 91st day following adjournment sine die.
