Relating to opportunities for local public health professionals; prescribing an effective date.

Abstract

Requires Oregon Health Authority to provide incentives to increase recruitment and retention of local public health professionals. Directs authority to provide grants to local public health agencies that provide interns and fellows with training in, and clinical supervision of, nursing duties performed in local public health agencies.] Directs authority to provide grants to employees of local public health agencies to provide preceptorships to students seeking nursing degrees, internships to students seeking a master's degree in public health and other educational opportunities to college students seeking training in public health. Requires authority to study administration and effectiveness of incentives and grants and submit two reports to Legislative Assembly. Appropriates moneys to authority for purposes of funding incentives and grants. Takes effect on 91st day following adjournment sine die.
