Disposal of unused medications and prescriptions.

Abstract

Requires the Indiana board of pharmacy to require specified entities to do the following when adopting rules concerning the return or disposal of unused controlled substances or prescription medication: (1) Provide patients with education concerning the dangers presented by unused or expired controlled substances or prescription medication. (2) Provide, on site, at least one consumer method of controlled substance or prescription medication disposal. Requires consumer methods of disposal to meet certain requirements.
