Campaign Funds-Forfeit-Felony

Abstract

Amends the Public Corruption Profit Forfeiture Act. Provides that any person who pleads guilty to, or is found guilty of, any felony relating to, arising out of, or in connection with his or her service as an elected official of this State shall forfeit all contributions held by political committees controlled by him or her to the General Revenue Fund of the State (currently, this forfeiture applies only to convictions for extortion, receiving the proceeds of extortion, bribery, and kickbacks). Effective immediately.
