Amends the Pharmacy Practice Act. Provides that, beginning on January 1, 2016, if the registrant has attained the age of 18 and has been registered for 12 months or longer as a registered technician, a pharmacy technician must meet specified requirements and register as a certified pharmacy technician and, if the registrant has not yet attained the age of 18 or has been registered for less than 12 months, then upon renewal of the full 2-year registration as a registered technician, a pharmacy technician must meet the requirements and register as a certified pharmacy technician. Requires that, as a condition for the renewal of a certificate of registration as a certified pharmacy technician, the registrant shall provide evidence to the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation of completion of a total of 20 hours of continuing pharmacy education during the 24 months preceding the expiration date of the certificate. Requires the Department to establish by rule a means for the verification of completion of the continuing education requirements. Provides that the Department may waive the requirements of continuing pharmacy education, in whole or in part, in cases of extreme hardship. Effective January 1, 2016.
