Abstract

Amends the Coal Mining Act. In the definition of "mine" and "coal mine", removes language allowing for the extraction by any means or method, including the method known as carbon recovery, and the work of preparing the coal so extracted, and including custom coal preparation facilities. In the definition of "surface mining facility", removes references to coal loading docks for deep or surface mines. Repeals provisions concerning dividing the State into inspection districts and appointment of State Mine Inspectors for each inspection district and for the State at large. Effective immediately.
