Muni Cd-Lynwood-Ford Heights

Abstract

Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Creates the consolidated Village of Lynwood-Ford Heights from June 1, 2017 and until May 31, 2025, with the terms of all officers of the Villages of Ford Heights and Lynwood ending on May 31, 2017. Provides that electors of the Village of Lynwood-Ford Heights elect at-large officers during the 2017 and 2021 consolidated elections. Provides that the electors of the Village of Lynwood-Ford Heights shall vote by referendum in the 2024 general election whether to continue the consolidated Village of Lynwood-Ford Heights. Provides that if the electors reject the continuation of the consolidated Village of Lynwood-Ford Heights, the former electors of the Villages of Ford Heights and Lynwood shall elect separate trustees and municipal officers in the 2025 consolidated election and those villages shall revert back to their statuses as existing prior to June 1, 2017.
