Spec Dist-Uniform Fiscal Year

Abstract

Amends the following Acts and Codes to provide that, beginning in 2016, the entities created under those Acts and Codes shall adopt a uniform fiscal year beginning on July 1 and ending on June 30: Emergency Telephone System Act, Airport Authorities Act, Cemetery Maintenance District Act, Civic Center Code, Soil and Water Conservation Districts Act, Illinois Drainage Code, Fire Protection District Act, Downstate Forest Preserve District Act, Public Health District Act, Hospital District Law, Tuberculosis Sanitarium District Act, Mosquito Abatement District Act, Museum District Act, Park District Code, Illinois International Port District Act, Railroad Terminal Authority Act, Rescue Squad Districts Act, River Conservancy Districts Act, Sanitary District Act of 1907, North Shore Sanitary District Act, Sanitary District Act of 1917, Sanitary District Act of 1936, Metro-East Sanitary District Act of 1974, Street Light District Act, Surface Water Protection District Act, Prairie Trail Authority Act, Local Mass Transit District Act, Public Water District Act, Water Service District Act, Water Authorities Act, and Water Commission Act of 1985. Allows the above entities with fiscal years ending on a date other than June 30 to adopt appropriation ordinances for a transition period of less than 12 months as may be necessary to effect the change. Provides that appropriations made for the transition period shall end with the close of the transition period. Effective immediately.
