Dph-Good Samaritan-Overdose

Abstract

Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department shall develop and implement a public education program to educate the public about the provisions of the Illinois Controlled Substances Act granting limited immunity from prosecution for drug overdose victims or persons seeking help for drug overdose victims if the only evidence for the possession charge was obtained as a result of the person seeking or obtaining emergency medical assistance.
