Police Training-Mental Health

Abstract

Amends the Illinois Police Training Act. Provides that the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board shall conduct or approve a training program that educates law enforcement officers on individuals with mental health conditions and establishes best practices for interactions with those individuals. Further provides that satisfactory completion of the program shall be evidenced by a certificate issued by the Board.
