Business Transactions-Valets

Abstract

Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. Provides that it is an unlawful practice under the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act for a valet service provider to refuse a consumer's request to store his or her motor vehicle overnight when the consumer indicates that he or she is too intoxicated to safely drive the motor vehicle. Provides that the valet service shall store the consumer's motor vehicle until 12:00 p.m. of the following day and may charge a fee of not more than $30 for the additional storage of the consumer's motor vehicle.
