Wrk Comp-Emt-Public Employee

Abstract

Amends the Workers' Compensation Act and the Workers' Occupational Diseases Act. In provisions stating that a condition or impairment of health of an employee employed as a firefighter, emergency medical technician, or paramedic that results directly or indirectly from specified causes resulting in any disability to the employee is rebuttably presumed, with specified exceptions, to arise out of and in the course of that employment and be causally connected to the hazards or exposures of the employment, limits those provisions to public employees. Effective immediately.
