Inc Tax-Mentor Deduction

Abstract

Amends the Illinois Income Tax Act. Creates a deduction for individual taxpayers in an amount equal to the number of hours spent by the taxpayer during the taxable year as a volunteer in a public school in the State that receives funding under Title I of the federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, multiplied by the federal minimum wage. Provides that the deduction may not exceed $250 per year. Exempts the deduction from the Act's automatic sunset provision. Effective immediately.
