Urge Predatory Lending Reform

Abstract

Urges sponsors of HR1214, the Payday Loan Reform Act, to (i) withdraw their support of the legislation's current provisions; (ii) support reforms that will be effective in stopping the payday lending cycle of debt; and (iii) only support proposals that do not undermine state efforts to reform the payday lending practice. Also urges members of Congress to enact a cap on annual interest rates of 36%.
