Hwy Cd-Naming-Troopers

Abstract

Amends the Illinois Highway Code. Provides that, within 30 days of a receipt of a written request by the Director of the State Police, the Secretary of Transportation shall name an interstate, State highway, or segment of an interstate or State highway in honor and memory of one or more Illinois State Troopers killed in the line of duty. Sets out the requirements for the written request. Provides that the Secretary shall consult with the Director of State Police on the design of the road signs and shall erect the appropriate highway signs within 30 days of receipt of the written request.
