Mwrd-Military Service

Abstract

Amends the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Act. Provides that the Director of Personnel shall give preference for original and promotional appointments (now, original appointments only) to persons who have at least 180 consecutive days of active duty military service at any time in the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, or Reserves (now, the provision applies to persons "engaged in the military or naval service of the United States" during certain specified periods of time). Deletes a provision requiring applicants to furnish evidence of honorable discharge before the examination. Deletes a provision stating that an applicant may receive military preference for promotion only one time. Effective immediately.
