Abstract

Amends the Illinois Marriage and Dissolution of Marriage Act to rewrite provisions concerning child custody and visitation; changes "custody" and "visitation" to "parental responsibilities" and "parenting time", respectively. Sets forth provisions concerning: commencement of a proceeding for allocation of parental responsibilities; factors to be considered in allocating parental responsibilities, including parenting time; a parenting plan; restriction of parental responsibilities; application of these provisions; and other matters. Amends the Neutral Site Custody Exchange Funding Act, the Intergovernmental Missing Child Recovery Act of 1984, the Domestic Relations Legal Funding Act, the Code of Criminal Procedure of 1963, the Illinois Parentage Act of 1984, the Illinois Domestic Violence Act of 1986, and the Probate Act of 1975 to make conforming changes.
