Cannabis Control-Penalties

Abstract

Amends the Cannabis Control Act. Provides that a person who knowingly manufactures, delivers, or possesses with intent to deliver, or manufactures, more than 100,000 grams of any substance containing cannabis is guilty of a Class X felony for which the person shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not less than 9 years and not more than 40 years and for which a fine not to exceed $300,000 may be imposed (rather than a Class X felony penalty for which a fine not to exceed $200,000 may be imposed).
