Pharm Prac-Prescription Labels

Abstract

Amends the Pharmacy Practice Act. Provides that prior to dispensing a prescription, a pharmacist must present the patient or a person legally authorized to make decisions for the patient with the option of having the symptom or purpose for the medication disclosed on the prescription label, and that if the patient or person legally authorized to make decisions for the patient chooses to have the symptom or purpose for the medication disclosed on the label, the pharmacist must specify the symptom or purpose of the medication in the prescription order and the prescription label must contain that symptom or purpose.
