St Police-Safe Streets Program

Abstract

Amends the Department of State Police Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois and the State Finance Act. Requires the Department of State Police to establish and maintain a violence-prevention program to be known as Operation Safe Streets. Provides that, under the program, the Department shall take applications from communities in the State located outside of Cook County that wish to participate. Sets forth the required components of the program. Creates the Safe Streets Fund as a special fund in the State treasury.
