Illinois Hlth Policy Authority

Abstract

Creates the Illinois Health Policy Authority Act. Establishes the Illinois Health Policy Authority as an advisory body on July 1, 2006. Provides for membership and organization of the Authority. Abolishes the Authority on July 1, 2013. Provides that the Authority shall develop and maintain a coordinated health policy agenda that combines effective purchasing and administration of health care with health promotion oriented public health strategies, for the purpose of improving the health of the people of Illinois by increasing the quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care services and public health programs. Requires annual reports to the General Assembly. Effective immediately.
