Sales Tx On Out-Of-State Goods

Abstract

Urges FurnitureLand South of Jamestown, North Carolina and other out-of-State retailers to charge sales taxes upon goods and taxable services intended for use within Illinois. Urges the Department of Revenue to take additional steps to improve the collection of sales taxes upon out-of-state goods intended for use within Illinois. Urges the Governor to allocate sufficient funds and personnel resources, within the Department of Revenue, to maximize State sales tax revenues, provide for the cash flow that the State needs to perform its vital duties, and maintain a level playing field between out-of-State retailers and retailers that do business and employ personnel within the State of Illinois.
