Public Health Emergencies

Abstract

Amends the Disaster Relief Act. Defines "disaster" to include public health emergencies and acts of domestic terrorism. Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois and amends the Illinois Emergency Management Agency Act. Provides for the Department and the Agency to coordinate with respect to planning for and responding to public health emergencies. Defines "disaster" to include public health emergencies. Defines "public health emergency". Provides that the Governor must deposit transfers and loan proceeds into and make expenditures from the Disaster Relief Fund. Provides for the General Assembly to restore moneys used from other funds to meet disaster needs. Effective immediately.
