Crim Cd-Attemt Purchse Firearm

Abstract

Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Creates the offense of unlawful attempt to purchase a firearm without a Firearm Owner's Identification Card. Provides that it is a Class A misdemeanor for a person to: (1) intend to purchase a firearm without displaying to the transferor of the firearm a valid Firearm Owner's Identification Card issued in the person's name by the Department of State Police; and (2) take a substantial step in the completion of the purchase of the firearm.
