Motor Fuel Tax-Transit Service

Abstract

Amends the Motor Fuel Tax Law and the Illinois Highway Code. Reallocates the Motor Fuel Tax moneys to be transferred to the Department of Transportation and distributed to the municipalities, counties, and road districts of the State. Provides that 1.00% of the amount distributed is to be used for increased weekend and late night transit service in counties with 1,000,000 or more inhabitants. Effective July 1, 2003.
