Electrician Licensing Act

Abstract

Creates the Electrician Licensing Act. Provides for regulation of electricians and electrical contractors. Establishes civil penalties for violations of the Act. Provides that performing unlicensed electrical work, when a license is required by this Act, constitutes a business offense for the first violation and a Class A misdemeanor for a second or subsequent violation. Provides for concurrent exercise by home rule units. Amends the Regulatory Sunset Act to repeal this Act January 1, 2014. Effective January 1, 2004.
