Riverboats-License Bidding

Abstract

Amends the Riverboat Gambling Act. Provides that each owners license, upon expiration, shall become subject to a competitive bidding process. Replaces the privilege tax with a competitive bidding tax, at a rate established by the successful bidder. Replaces the current system of distributing riverboat gambling moneys with a new system. Repeals a Section authorizing an owners licensee that was not conducting riverboat gambling operations on January 1, 1998 to relocate to a new home dock location. Repeals a related Section of the Illinois Horse Racing Act of 1975. Effective immediately.
