Animal Fighting-Forfeiture

Abstract

Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides for the forfeiture to the State of real property used in the conduct of animal or dog fighting and of moneys, profits, and proceeds acquired by the conduct of animal fighting or dog fighting in violation of the Humane Care for Animals Act or the dog fighting provisions of the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides for hearings on forfeiture. Provides for the distribution of the proceeds from the sale of the property seized to the various units of government that investigated and prosecuted the violations. Effective immediately.
